The 632 Isobar is used to connect sensors with an output signal of 4-20 mA either with the generation of an intrinsically safe supply voltage to the sensor while simultaneously removing its current signal, or in the mode of a passive receiver of the sensor output current without supply voltage. The barriers do not require grounding and provide protection for secondary equipment from radio and pulse interference coming through the communication line with the sensor. The use of barriers avoids the appearance of parasitic current loops through the ground, distorting the main signal.
